F.A.Q.: Products
A frequently asked question I get from my nappturous friends are where do I buy stuff? What do I use? How do I do that? This post is the first of many F.A.Q. posts to come:
Products
Where to buy products…well this all depends on your preference. It can be done online (see some of the suggested stores in the links section), or can be bought from a Beauty Supply Store (BSS), or through the Health Food Stores (HFS), or of-course you can make your own (HMC-home made concoction).
For many depending on where you live, online is easy, as everyone these days carry what you will be looking for. A typical beauty supply store (not limited to a definite beauty supply store) carries a lot of options but can often be limited. The Health food stores usually have most of what you need if you plan to make a HMC, but it can get pricey.
What products should I buy?
Again this is totally up to you. Some people including myself rather to use all natural products when I can. However brand products are easy to get. If you choose to get a brand product the following are brands I recommend:
Mostly Chemical but not damaging:
- KeraCare
- Organic Root Stimulator
- Mane and Tail
- Creme of Nature
Natural
- Organix
- Blended Beauty
- Kinky-Curly
- Dudu-Osun
- Curlz
- Sizta2Sizta
Al of the above brands are very good..however as you can see some are more natural than others.
How do you use your products? Well typically most naturals co-wash their hair. It does not stress the hair as much as would shampoo washing…see more for this under techniques.
