It’s finally summer, and along with that comes all the great plans, including weddings. A friend of mine is getting married, and of-course I’ll be at the wedding, my only issue is deciding on how to wear my hair. The last time I’ve been to a wedding and had to participate, my hair was relaxed and a stylist took care of that. Now I am brainstorming ideas. So here’s what I need:

any tips/suggestions on styles that I could wear that are natural and even ones?preferably?that do not include having to flat iron my hair.

I look forward to hearing what you guys have ^_^

I wear my hair in twist, because I do not want them to lock, I usually have it re-twisted every two weeks. It works when your dressed up also. I've also done flat twist up in an up-do, looks really good! I have pics too.
  • Hey Maxine..email me those pics..I'll gladly add them to the site for inspiration! hairmail@sashashae.com

I have locks for one year now...if I was attending a wedding, I would wrap it in a pretty cloth--this style is called a gelee. I have been natural for about 15 years, and on my second set of locks.

I will be getting married by the end of this year, and I might have a nice updo done professionally or a white gelee adorned with cowrie shells.

A style that i did for a weding was to do a cornrow design in the front and then pull the back in a high afro puff. You can then do garnish your hair with a pretty flower, a nice head band, or a jewel. this keeps your hair off of your neck and shows off your face.

Greetings...Hope all is well. Now down to business. I love natural hair (I've been natural for two years and it's been an extremely unique experience. What i tend to do when it's time for outings is the following: I part my hair in cornrow format, then I two strand twist it like I'm doing a cornrow. Keep in mind though, I wet my hair and use a dab of Carol's Daughter Hair Milk or Miss Jessie's buttercream (not too much because then it becomes a bit greasy. When done, I sit up under the hair dryer until my hair is dry. When dry. I separate the twisted hair, tease it a little bit. Sometimes I finish the style off by two small hair combs as accents for each side of my hair. By pulling the hair to the sides and adding them in. Or I use one comb for one side. I know this sounds like a lot but, it really isn't. You can also resort to pinning the hair back and making a mowhawk... I do it all the time. It's funky, sassy and cute. And is great for any occasion. Hope that I was of some help to you.

    Warmest regards...

I'm trying to decide on a afro puff (which is off your face) or a nice braded style that could have a flower accent in it on the side. No heat and no hair flying in your face.
