Book Review: Nappturosity
Hello all my wonderful naturals (and aspiring naturals!) It’s time for another book review. Quite frankly I’m disappointed in myself for not sharing this book with you sooner. I’ve had it for a while (aka a little over a year, lol) and I love it!! The book is entitled Nappturosity and it is written by Erin Shell Anthony. Here’s a look at what the cover is (clickable and takes you to her site).
I know some of you may have already read this book, but if you haven’t you are missing out. This is another book I think is a manual for naturals everywhere, and it is so essential as it offers some of the best advice I’ve seen yet. Prior to me becoming a youtube junkie, this is the book I read that taught me that co-washing and washing hair in sections is very important. This was the book that opened my eyes to really using natural products in my hair. It told me the dangers of mineral oil. It shared with me recipes on making my own curling custard, conditioners and more. Simply put this book is fabulous and jam packed with information.
If you love your hair being natural and fabulous, you will love this book, that teaches you how to make the most of it, whether your loosed hair or locked, man or woman. The book also includes alot of professional interviews with top notch hair dressers, naturals, product owners.
Incase you are wondering here is a summarization sample of some of the topics in the book:
- Develop a relationship with your hair, make a plan
- Appreciate your texture, finding your texture,
- Finding your hair care regime
- Myths and Truth revealed
- Ingredients: the harmful, the good and the awesome
And a whole lot more
Check it out today and I hope you enjoy it and learn from it as much as I have.
Stay Blessed and Afroniquely You.
