Everyone who has read this blog, or who have natural hair or love natural products have heard time and time again about Shea Butter. Shea butter is exquisite in my opinion. The fact that it has so many uses is just amazing, plus getting shea butter is relatively easy. Places like From Nature With Love and Afrikan Republic sell shea butter for great prices.

Here’s a quick and easy body butter you could whip up, which can double as an hair butter!

Ingredients:

8oz shea butter (of-course) you can add more or less, it’s your choice

1 tablespoon aloe vera gel

1 teaspoon coconut oil

cap full of olive oil or vitamin e oil

large bowl

blender of some sort–you could use a hand held mixer, or a food processor or my personal fave the magic bullet!

container to store butter in (make sure it has a lid and is airtight)

Before hand, if your shea butter is a little hard, you may want to place it in a microwave safe dish (about 8oz) and warm it for 30 seconds so it is slightly melted. After that, place the shea into the bowl that you will be using to mix the ingredients in (this only applies if your using the hand blender/mixer). Blend/beat the shea for about 1 min till it softens completely, after that add the aloe vera gel to the blender, and mix it with the shea butter, whip till its all mixed. After that add the coconut and olive oil, whip once more till smooth. Let sit for about 15 mins. It may harden, but the final whip should take care of that. Whip and blend the mixture one last time. Whip it for about 2 mins ensuring it is smooth and creamy or like a whipped butter. Once that is done, scoop it into a container of your choice then have fun in your shea indulgence!

Stay Blessed and Afroniquely You!

Treat yourself to a sweet face mask That not only leaves your face refreshed, but aids for acne proned skin and blemishes.

You will need:

2 Tablespoons Oatmeal

1 teaspoon Honey

2-3 tablespoons of chilled Plain organic yogurt

Bowl

Spoon (table spoon)

What they do:

Oatmeal is great for exfoliating, it also reveals smoother, softer skin. Honey is one for adding moisture and also bacteria repellant. The yogurt has acidic properties that help clean and detox the skin naturally and also soften skin and refines pores.

Directions:

(Optional: you could blend the oatmeal into a powder so it is easier to mix in with the other ingredients.)

Place the oatmeal into your bowl. Next add the 2-3 tablespoons of yogurt. Add the yogurt 1 tablespoon at a time. After that, mix the two together. When completely mixed, add the honey and then blend it in. The consistency should be a creamy mix. Apply to your face, let sit for 15 to 20 minutes. After it has harden, wet your hands and gently exfoliate the face in circular motions with the mask still on. Then rinse your face with warm water and pat dry.

Enjoy,

Stay Blessed and Afroniquely You!

Today, I want to talk about the sweet treat of honey scrub! Why buy body scrubs when you can make your own?

Well here’s a quick short recipe for a nice scrub:

1 teaspoon honey

1/2 teaspoon olive oil (or any other oil of your choice like jojoba, coconut oil etc)

1 teaspoon (or more) of granulated sugar.

spoon

bowl/dish

jar to put concoction in.

Directions:

Place the honey into the bowl/jar, then add the oil, combine both together and stir till they are mixed well. Next slowly add in the sugar, stirring or flipping with the spoon till the consistency is as that of a scrub. You may need to add more sugar to suit your taste of a scrub. When you have the consistency you like, place the mix into a jar that can be sealed, and have fun using!

Stay Blessed and Afroniquely You!
